FB CD RELEASE PARTY SONG #3: Private Gravity - July 14, 2010
Well, another Wednesday, another song. Thanks for checking out the Subway song and for making the Cici Song #3 on the highly regarded CD BABY Poppy Folk charts for the third week in a row. I can't even get to my car without droves of crusty old hippies screaming and carrying on. It's crazy.
This week's song is Private Gravity.
FB CD RELEASE PARTY SONG #2: THE SUBWAY SONG. - July 7, 2010
So thanks for listening to the Cici Song last week. And if you have friends or family who might like singers pretending to be Paul Simon, please pass my stuff on. Word of mouth is all I’ve got. KROQ won’t return my calls. Anyway, this week it’s the subway song. My friends at work make fun of me because I spend the time to write, sing and record the song but never come up with a title. So this one is about a Subway. So it’s called the Subway Song. Hope you like it.
I’ve got a CD’s worth of new songs recorded and I want to have a CD release party. So I’m going to have it right here on FB. So every Wednesday, I’m going to post a song for you to check out. If you like it, you can click “Buy” and it will take you to CDBABY.com where I’ve set it for $0.00 so you can just download it for free.
So this song was written for my daughter Cici. It took me 2 years and 2 hours to write. Two years of stressing out about it and 2 hours locked in a practice space to actually write it. If this song makes you slide around on your kitchen floor in your socks while you’re making breakfast, it’s done its job. Hope you like it.
So I played the Relay For Life in Cohasett, MA on Friday night. At 9:30 in the middle of a field behind the high school, I notice a teen aged girl sit down and start listening. And after the show she came up to me and said, "I thought you were great. Are all those songs originals?" And I said, "Yep." And gave her a couple of CDs. The funny thing is, I think it was a cooler experience for me than it was for her.
Thanks teenaged girl from Hull. I think you're the one who rocks.
Cancelling Shows. - May 19, 2010
I hate to do this but I've had to cancel my next 2 shows. I will not be performing at the All Asia this Thursday or at the Bull Run Restaurant on June 3. I hope I didn't mess up anybody's plans. Stay tuned for some exciting news.

Everything but music - March 24, 2010
So I've been a busy guy lately and music has unfortunately been on hold for a little bit but very soon I will be back with new music and shows. But to get an idea of what I've been working on, check out the Portfolio Section. I've been shooting some videos for GMC. You can also see them at Terrainsworld.com. Hope you like them.
January Songwriters Series. - December 1, 2009
Well, it's been a while since I've played live. Except for choking out some 80's tunes at my High School Reunion. You should have seen it. Wow, I'm old. Anyway, I'm playing a singer songwriter's series at the All Asia Bar on Mass Ave in Central Sq. Cambridge. It's a great place to showcase the newest talent in town. And some old guys too. Not mention anybody's names.
Check CALENDAR for the details.
Radio Performance 12/30 - October 21, 2009
So on Thursday Dec 30, 7-10pm. I will be performing live on WATD it's the show completely dedicated to Bob Dylan so that means I'll be playing some of the best covers ever written. Wow, suddenly I don't feel worthy.
Check out the host Craig Coffee's bio and all about the show here.
This is probably no surprise to anybody even remotely familiar with Boston area music but Ryan Montbleau is great. I picked up Patience on Friday not long ago and it's just great. Thought provoking and Groovy. That's rare.
So I went back into the studio this past Saturday and Steve Sadler, an amazing guitar/ lap steel player just brought some of my simple songs to life. They sound real now. Whatever that means. It's just so great to have a studio musician do what they do best. Thanks Steve.
Check him out at http://stevesadler.com
He plays with people all over Cambridge and Boston.
Great guy.
Purchase - September 16, 2009
So I picked up songs from the Verve's latest CD.
I got them on amiestreet.com
If you don't know about them, they're cool. The price of the music goes up as the popularity does. So if you're ahead of the curve, you can get great music at a low price.
I just realized as I was walking through the used cd store, that how can I expect anyone to purchase my stuff if I'm not buying anything from people?
So that's what I'm doing. Finding lesser known people and buying their stuff.
I'll let you know when my next purchase happens.
Working on new songs in studio. - September 3, 2009
You ever have that thing where you listen to your song one day and it sounds great, brilliant even. And the next you play it again and you're totally disgusted by it? Only the song hasn't changed, you have.
I'm there right now. Recording purgatory. I hate that.
Tinkering in the Lab - August 20, 2009
Hey look, It's been June since I said anything. That's because I'm going back inside the shed and working on stuff. That includes songs that need to be finished in the studio.
I hope to have new songs done by the end of the year.
Stay tuned. And if so inclined buy a song. It really helps pay for studio time.
Great Channel Cafe Show - June 24, 2009
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Channel Cafe it was a fun night and a great place. Sort of a best kept secret right now but not for long.
Anyway, stay tuned for more shows and take a peak at some pics from the the Burren show.
My friend Kenny Rennard took some great shots. I'll be changing them out so keep checking back.
Cafe Blue Hills CANCELLED - June 7, 2009
Sorry about that but the Cafe had a scheduling conflict and they had to cancel. Not sure about playing there again. But we'll let you know.
Practice. - May 29, 2009
So I don't get to practice much but when I do, man do I take advantage of it. Like the other night. I was ready to pull out my set list and I ended up playing Michael Jackson songs for 2 hours then I went to bed. Nice work ethic.
Different songs for different places. - May 28, 2009
So I'm playing 3 shows coming up and as I've been thinking about what to play, I like to cater the songs to the places. So bars like the Burren, I want to have fun, make noise and hopefully have people enjoy the night and the music. So those are the song's I'll play.
But then at the Cafe Blue Hills in June, I'm excited to play some quieter stuff that people can take in and enjoy. It's great to play both types of places and it gives you an excuse to come to both shows and not feel so stalker-y. Is that a word?
What a summer ahead. - April 30, 2009
Well the other night when I was booking more studio time for my next project that's coming along. I realize that it's been in the works for 3 years.
Yes, that's right I've become Axel Rose.
But on the bright side, I'm playing a lot in MAY and JUNE so you don't have to wait for the album, CD, download or stream. You can get the real thing. Check out the calendar. And we'll see you out there.
The New Tricycle Site - January 1, 2009
It's going to be an exciting year. I've got this new site, I'm hopefully going to finish a new cd. And play more gigs.
2 Shows Saturday night. - November 5, 2008

Both in Cambridge. Just minutes from eachother.

Songs for Steve - September 2, 2008
****
Here you go Steve. These are still rough but I was looking for help on these songs.
Song #1 April Moon.
Country Tune.
Needs one of these: DOBRO, Lap Steel, pedal steel or electric with a slide.
Song 2 SAIL ON.
A Jam Band-ish tune.
This needs funky improvisation throughout. No real solo but lots of space to fill.
Electric with maybe a wa pedal. But more authentic sounding.
Song 3 Cici Song.
Straight ahead. Sort of like Paul Simon
